Candidate search has changed - have you?

My resume looks fine - why spend extra to change a few words?

Sure it looks fine, you've checked it for typos...but fine isn't good enough today.  Here's why:

Most of us were taught a job hunting methodology, based on printed parchment  resumes, sent to hiring managers that looked for general skills.  But those hiring practices have been obsolete for over 10 years.

So what changed?

Everything....

The eye opening reality of job hunting in 2008 is:

  • Only 2-3% of resumes submitted for most jobs, even get reviewed by a human

  • The 2% who make the cut use these new systems to their advantage....so can you

  • Cover Letters don’t get reviewed

  • Hiring managers hire full time employees like they hire consultants - to do a specific job ... NOW

  • Most colleges still teach resume writing the same way they did 30 years ago - today students are just taught to post online

  • Average resumes, fine resumes don't get interviews. Only Killer resumes make the cut
