Who’s Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 11/22/10.

The business service, retail, transportation, hospitality, banking, telecommunications and health care are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nation’s leading job boards.

Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings week of 11/22/10:

Business Service firms led hiring companies as IBM, Deloitte, SAIC, CSC and Ernst & Young were actively staffing. Retail was next as Advance Auto Parts, Macy’s, Sears, Kmart, Safeway, A&P, Lowe’s, Toys “R” Us and RadioShack were gearing up for the holidays.

Transportation company UPS also continued its holiday hiring season and remained in the top 10 hiring firms. Hospitality was hiring as Starbucks, Marriott, Cracker Barrel, Hilton and Boston Market continued heavy job advertisements.

Banking was still staffing as Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo were heavy advertisers. Telecommunications was hiring with AT&T and Verizon still staffing actively.

Health care rounds out the top of the list as Kaiser Permanente, HCR ManorCare, UnitedHealth, DaVita, HCA Healthcare, Genesis Healthcare, Community Health Systems, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Gentiva Health and Apria Health Care were top job advertisers.

Job Openings Added This Week – 11/22/10:

The business service, transportation, banking, telecommunications, health care and retail verticals are the top industries with new job postings this week based on a survey of the nation’s leading job advertisements added during the past seven days for the week of 11/22/10.

Business service led new hiring advertisements as IBM, Deloitte, Booz Allen, SAIC and CSC were included in the top job advertisers this week. Transportation was next as UPS continued its holiday hiring push and was second in new advertisements this week.

Banking continued staffing as JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Citi added advertisements this week. Telecommunications advertised for new positions as AT&T and Verizon advertised for jobs this week.

Health care is back in the top ten new advertisments this week as HCR Manorcare, Gentiva Health, UnitedHealth, Genesis Healthcare and Hgi Healthcare were staffing. Retail rounded out the list as Kmart, Macy’s, Sears, Pathmark, A&P, RadioShack, Super Fresh, Waldbaums, Lowe’s, Staples, Amazon, and Carquest Auto Parts continued holiday hiring this week.
