Who’s Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 11/29/10.

The business service, retail, health care, transportation, hospitality, telecommunications and banking are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nation’s leading job boards.

Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings week of 11/29/10:

Business Service firms led hiring companies as IBM, Deloitte, Accenture, SAIC and CSC were actively staffing. Retail was next as Advance Auto Parts, Safeway, Macy’s, Sears, Home Depot, Kmart, GNC, Lowe’s, Toys “R” Us, Food Lion and RadioShack were gearing up for the holidays.

Health care contuned staffing as HCA Healthcare, HCR ManorCare, Kaiser Permanente, DaVita, Genesis Healthcare, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Gentiva Health and UnitedHealth were top job advertisers. Transportation company UPS also continued its holiday hiring season and remained in the top 10 hiring firms.

Hospitality was hiring as Starbucks, Marriott, Cracker Barrel and Friendly’s continued heavy job advertisements. Telecommunications was hiring with AT&T and Verizon still staffing actively.

Banking rounds out the top of the list as Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo were heavy advertisers.

Job Openings Added This Week – 11/29/10:

The health care, business service, retail, technology, transportation, banking, telecommunications and transportation verticals are the top industries with new job postings this week based on a survey of the nation’s leading job advertisements added during the past seven days for the week of 11/29/10.

Health care led new hiring advertisements as HCA Healthcare, HCR Manorcare, Faulkner Hospital, UnitedHealth, Genesis Healthcare, Universal Health services, Centra Healthcare Solutions, Adventist Health System and Rotech Healthcare were staffing. Business service firms IBM, ADP, Deloitte, PWC, and SAIC were included in the top job advertisers this week.

Retail continued growth plans as Safeway, Home Depot, Kmart, Macy’s, Lowe’s, Chico’s, Walmart and Love’s continued holiday job advertising this week. Welcome back Microsoft! The technology company was hiring along with HP, advertising for new positions this week.

Banking continued staffing as Wells Fargo and Bank of America added advertisements this week. Telecommunications advertised for new positions as AT&T and Verizon advertised for jobs this week.

Transportation remained in the top 10 as UPS continued its holiday hiring push adding new advertisements this week.
