Who’s Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 12/27/10.

The hospitality, business service, retail, telecommunications, health care and banking are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nation’s leading job boards.

Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings week of 12/27/10:

Hospitality led hiring companies as Pizza Hut, Starbucks. Sonic, Marriott and McCormick and Schmick continued heavy job advertisements. Business Service firms were next as IBM, SAIC, Deloitte, Accenture, Ernst & Young, CSC and Publicis Touchpoint were actively staffing.

Retail was hiring as Staples, Advance Auto Parts, Sears, Blockbuster and Lowe’s were gearing up even as the holidays are upon us. Telecommunications was hiring with AT&T and Verizon still staffing actively.

Health care continued staffing as HCR ManorCare, Kaiser Permanente, Gentiva Health, DaVita, Genesis Healthcare, UnitedHealth Group, HCA Healthcare, Community Health Systems, Sibley Memorial Hospital and Faulkner Hospital were top job advertisers. Banking rounds out the top of the list as Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo were heavy advertisers.

Job Openings Added This Week – 12/27/10:

The hospitality, business service, automotive, telecommunications, retail, banking and health care verticals are the top industries with new job postings this week based on a survey of the nation’s leading job advertisements added during the past seven days for the week of 12/27/10.

Hospitality led new hiring firms adding advertisements this week as Pizza Hut, Sonic, McCormick & Schmick’s and Hilton were staffing. Business service firms IBM, ADP, Deloitte, Publicis Touchpoint and CSC were included in the top employers adding job advertisements this week.

Automotive company Volkswagon was one of the top firms adding job postings this week. Telecommunications advertised for new positions as Verizon and AT&T advertised for jobs this week.

Retail advertised openings this week as Ross Stores, Blockbuster, JCPenney, Amazon, Sears, Toys “R” Us, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Chico’s Fashions, Love’s, Walmart and Bed Bath & Beyond all placed new job ads. Banking continued staffing as Wells Fargo and Bank of America and added advertisements this week.

Health care added job advertisements this week as Genesis Healthcare, HCR Manorcare, Gentiva Health, UnitedHealth, HCA Healthcare, DaVita, Kaiser Permanente, Community Health Systems and were staffing.
