Who’s Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 1/3/11.

The hospitality, business service, retail, banking, health care, automotive and telecommunications verticals are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nation’s leading job boards.

Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings week of 1/3/11:

Hospitality led hiring companies as Pizza Hut, Starbucks, McCormick & Schmick and Marriott continued heavy job advertisements. Business Service firms were next as IBM, SAIC, Deloitte, ADP, Ernst & Young, Publicis Touchpoint and CSC were actively staffing.

Retail was hiring as Advance Auto Parts, Staples, Sears, Lowe’s, Murphy USA and OfficeMax were gearing up even as the holidays are upon us. Banking continued hiring as Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo were heavy advertisers.

Health care continued staffing as Kaiser Permanente, HCR ManorCare, Genesis Healthcare, Golden Living Centers, Sibley Memorial Hospital, DaVita and HCA Healthcare were top job advertisers. Automotive is a hiring leader again as Volkswagon and Chrysler – Mopar continue heavy advertising.

Telecommunications rounds out the top of the list as AT&T, Verizon and T-mobile still staffing actively.

Job Openings Added This Week – 1/3/11:

The hospitality, business service, telecommunications, retail and health care verticals are the top industries with new job postings this week based on a survey of the nation’s leading job advertisements added during the past seven days for the week of 1/3/11.

Hospitality led new hiring firms adding advertisements this week as Pizza Hut, Starbucks, McCormick & Schmick’s, Friendly’s, McDonald’s and Hilton were staffing. Business service firms IBM, ADP and Ernst & Young were included in the top employers adding job advertisements this week.

Telecommunications advertised for new positions as Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile advertised for jobs this week. Retail advertised openings this week as JCPenney, Amazon, Sears, Toys “R” Us, RAC, Love’s, Chico’s Fashions, Walmart and Lowe’s all placed new job ads.

Health care added job advertisements this week as Kaiser Permanente, HCR Manorcare, Genesis Healthcare, Sibley Memorial Hospital and UnitedHealth were staffing.
