Who’s Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 1/10/11.

The hospitality, retail, business service, telecommunications, health care and banking are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nation’s leading job boards.

Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings week of 1/10/11:

Hospitality led hiring companies as Pizza Hut, Starbucks, McCormick & Schmick and Marriott continued heavy job advertisements. Retail was hiring as Safeway, Advance Auto Parts, Staples, OfficeMax, Toys”R”Us, Sears, Lowe’s, Food Lion and Walmart continued to build staff even after the holidays are over.

Business Service firms were next as IBM, Deloitte and CSC were actively staffing. Telecommunications continues staffing big as AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile still staffing actively.

Health care was hiring as Kaiser Permanente, HCR ManorCare, Genesis Healthcare, HCA Healthcare, Golden Living Centers, Sibley Memorial Hospital, DaVita, UnitedHealth Group, Community Health Systems, Gentiva and Apria Healthcare were top job advertisers.

Banking rounds out the top of the list as Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo were heavy advertisers.

Job Openings Added This Week – 1/10/11:

The retail, hospitality, business service, telecommunications, automotive and health care verticals are the top industries with new job postings this week based on a survey of the nation’s leading job advertisements added during the past seven days for the week of 1/10/11.

Retail led new hiring firms as Safeway, Advance Auto Parts, Amazon, OfficeMax, Sears, Lowe’s, Whole Foods, Food Lion and Chico’s Fashions all placed new job ads. Hospitality was next, adding advertisements this week as Pizza Hut, McCormick & Schmick’s, Marriott and Hilton were staffing.

Business service firms IBM, Deloitte, ADP and SAIC were included in the top employers adding job advertisements this week. Telecommunications advertised for new positions as AT&T and Verizon advertised for jobs this week.

Automotive jumped into the top advertisers this week with Volkswagon and Chrysler – Mopar running new job ads. Health care added job advertisements this week as Kaiser Permanente, HCA, HCR Manorcare, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Golden Living, Gentiva Health Services and Community Health Systems were staffing.
