Who’s Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 1/17/11.

The hospitality, retail, business service, telecommunications, health care and banking are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nation’s leading job boards.

Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings week of 1/17/11:

Hospitality led hiring companies as Pizza Hut, Starbucks, McCormick & Schmick and Marriott continued heavy job advertisements. Retail was hiring as Staples, Advance Auto Parts, Kmart, Amazon, Sears, Toys”R”Us, Food Lion, Lowe’s and Walmart continued to build staff even after the holidays are over.

Business Service firms were next as IBM, SAIC, Deloitte, ADP and CSC were actively staffing. Telecommunications continues staffing big as AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile still staffing actively.

Health care was hiring as Kaiser Permanente, HCA Healthcare, Genesis Healthcare, HCR ManorCare, Gentiva, DaVita, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Golden Living Centers, UnitedHealth Group, Community Health Systems, and Apria Healthcare were top job advertisers.

Banking rounds out the top of the list as Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo were heavy advertisers.

Job Openings Added This Week – 1/17/11:

The retail, business service, hospitality, telecommunications and health care verticals are the top industries with new job postings this week based on a survey of the nation’s leading job advertisements added during the past seven days for the week of 1/17/11.

Retail led new hiring firms as Staples, Kmart, Amazon, Pilot, Sears, OfficeMax, Lowe’s, Rent-a-Center and Chico’s Fashions all placed new job ads. Business service firms IBM, SAIC, Deloitte and ADP were included in the top employers adding job advertisements this week.

Hospitality was next, adding advertisements this week as McDonald’s, McCormick & Schmick’s, Panda Restaurant Group and Marriott were staffing. Telecommunications advertised for new positions as AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile advertised for jobs this week.

Health care added job advertisements this week as Kaiser Permanente, Gentiva Health Services, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Golden Living, UnitedHealth, Sanford Health, HCR Manorcare and Genesis Rehabilitation were staffing.
