Who’s Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 1/24/11.

The hospitality, business service, retail, health care, telecommunications and banking verticals are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nation’s leading job boards.

Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings week of 1/24/11:

Hospitality led hiring companies as Pizza Hut, Starbucks, McCormick & Schmick and Marriott continued heavy job advertisements. Business Service firms were next as IBM, Deloitte, SAIC, and E & Y were actively staffing.

Retail was hiring as Staples, Advance Auto Parts, Home Depot, Kmart, Amazon, Ross Stores, Sears, Lowe’s, Toys”R”Us and Food Lion continued to build staff even after the holidays are over. Health care was hiring as Kaiser Permanente, HCA Healthcare, Genesis Healthcare, HCR ManorCare, Gentiva, DaVita, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Golden Living Centers, UnitedHealth Group, Community Health Systems, and Apria Healthcare were top job advertisers.

Telecommunications continues building as AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile still staffing actively. Banking rounds out the top of the list as Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo were heavy advertisers.

Job Openings Added This Week – 1/24/11:

The business service, retail, financial service, telecommunications and health care verticals are the top industries with new job postings this week based on a survey of the nation’s leading job advertisements added during the past seven days for the week of 1/24/11.

Business service led new hiring firms as IBM, Deloitte, SAIC, ADP all placed new job ads. Retail firms Home Depot, Ross Stores, Amazon, Sears, Lowe’s, Target, Kmart, Chico’s Fashions, Dollar Tree and Macy’s were included in the top employers adding job advertisements this week.

Financial Service was next as Edward Jones broke the top 10 firms adding advertisements this week.
Telecommunications advertised for new positions as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon advertised for jobs this week.

Health care added job advertisements this week as Tenet Health, Kaiser Permanente, Gentiva Health Services, UnitedHealth, HCR Manorcare, Genesis Rehabilitation and DaVita were staffing.
