Who’s Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 1/31/11.

The hospitality, business service, retail, health care, telecommunications and banking verticals are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nation’s leading job boards.

Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.

Total Job Openings week of 1/31/11:

Hospitality led hiring companies as Pizza Hut, Starbucks, McCormick & Schmick and Marriott continued heavy job advertisements. Business Service firms were next as IBM, Deloitte, SAIC, and ADP were actively staffing.

Retail was hiring as Advance Auto Parts, Staples, 7-Eleven, Amazon, Home Depot, Petco, Kmart, Ross Stores, Sears, Lowe’s and Toys”R”Us continued to build staff even after the holidays are over. Health care was hiring as Kaiser Permanente, HCR ManorCare, DaVita, UnitedHealth Group, Genesis Healthcare, HCA Healthcare, Gentiva, Community Health Systems and Apria Healthcare were top job advertisers.

Telecommunications continues building as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon are still staffing actively. Banking rounds out the top of the list as Bank of America, Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase were heavy advertisers.

Job Openings Added This Week – 1/31/11:

The retail, hospitality, business service, telecommunications, and banking verticals are the top industries with new job postings this week based on a survey of the nation’s leading job advertisements added during the past seven days for the week of 1/31/11.

Retail led new hiring firms 7-Eleven, Petco, Amazon, JC Penney, Macy’s, Lowe’s, Sears, Chico’s Fashions and Walmart were included in the top employers adding job advertisements this week. Hospitality was next this week as Starbucks, McCormick & Schmick’s, Sonic, Marriott and Hilton placed new advertisements this week.

Business service firms IBM, Deloitte, ADP, SAIC and PWC all placed new job ads. Telecommunications advertised for new positions as AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon advertised for jobs this week.

Banking added job advertisements this week as Wells Fargo, Citi, Bank of America and US Bank were staffing.
